Little bit of Brooklyn

I have been besieged with boxes and parcels from America full of all the wonderful products I saw and ordered back in the summer at the NY NOW show. Spent days unwrapping and getting it all out of the shelves – now looking full and fabulous. So my favourite items are from Peg and Awl – a gorgeous husband and wife team from Pennsylvania who make treasures from abandoned materials. Here we have waxed oilskin lunchbags, money pouches and pencil cases, all hand made. Also lots of decoupage from old botanical, medical and natural history images on wooden desk caddies and T light holders using reclaimed wood from old floor joists from Philly in the 1800’s. Peg and Awl also make beautiful jewellery from tiny hand made leather bound books on chains to recycled bronze or oxidised silver pendants with imprints of wild flowers. More from USA, Lisa B wool and cashmere socks for women and children, in the softest colour palette and subtle designs, plain, striped, floral and dots. Soft, warm and cosy for the winter and a perfect gift. From Spitfire Girl my friends based in Los Angeles I have added to the scented candle collections in store with the Bergamot, Vertivert, Bourbon Amber and Orris and Amber candles which are handmade, last 60 hrs and are decorated with a image set on wood around the glass jar. These were one of the very first products we had in Hettie Holland and sold out immediately; so happy to have them back on the shelves. Spitfire Girl also produces beautifully designed and bottled bath elixir, bath salts and roller perfume in new scents which all make perfect gifts.
